Dorothy C. Randle
Business Development Manager
Dorothy Randle works for the City of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, in the Office of Housing and Economic Development - Minority Business Opportunity Center, operating under the U.S. Department of Commerce - Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA).
As the Business Development Manager for Contracts and Procurement, she is responsible for supporting the advancement of minority business enterprises through the brokering of contracts and procurement opportunities for minority entrepreneurs.
Randle first came to LA MBOC in 2006 as the Program and Communications Manager responsible for all outreach, marketing, and program compliance. Under her direction, the Center has gain greater market presence, increased its client based, improved its services through the creation of forms and systems, and is created branding to align itself with MDBA while still having some uniqueness in its presentational materials.
Her passion for serving minority entrepreneurs, over the past 14 years, stems from her business development experience in providing marketing, business planning and counseling to start up companies. She desires to make a positive difference in the business community and enjoys helping entrepreneurs connect with others and business opportunities, so they can take their companies to the next level.
Other work-related experiences include: being the General Manager for a small business magazine publication company, freelance writing for business publications like Minorities in Business magazine, and being a business consultant. She has managed the day-to-day operations of a small minority-owned firm, supervised staff, and produced a bi-monthly business magazine.
Her personality exudes confident and she a relational manager who seeks to know people and understand how to match opportunities with people. She is a prolific speaker who presents seminars and workshops to minority entrepreneurs and start-up firms. Ms. Randle also a published author and skilled journalist, and is often asked to provide individual business consultant services to entrepreneurs.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Biola University and she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Journalism from California State University Dominguez Hills.
