Ronald (Ron)A. Lowe is a business Development Manager for the Los Angeles Minority Business Opportunity Center (LA MBOC) located in the Mayors Office of Housing and Economic Development for the City Of Los Angeles. Through strategic partnerships, Mr. Lowe connects Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) with public and private Financing opportunities including insurance and bonding.
Ron is a community development professional with extensive background in community and economic development finance, real estate finance and micro-lending. He was formerly with the Los Angeles LDC where he was responsible for loan development outreach, analyzing loan proposals, underwriting and preparing loan transaction reports. The Los Angeles LDC was founded by Mayor Tom Bradley in 1980 to serve neighborhoods in Los Angeles that suffered from redlining and disinvestment by bringing capital to spur real estate and economic development. Prior to joining the LDC, Mr. Lowe owned and operated his own business and has worked with various community development loan funds and organizations as an independent financial consultant in the business and economic industry as well as in the entertainment industry. Mr. Lowe has worked with financial institutions such as FAME Assistance Corporation where he had direct responsibility for managing their Department of Commerce EDA-Revolving Loan Fund program as well as their Disney and Small Business Administration Micro-Loan Fund. FAME Assistance Corporation is nationally acclaimed non-profit 501(c) (3) corporation engaged in community and economic development. Prior to FAME, Mr. Lowe worked with Operation Hope where he was responsible for marketing outreach to minority and women-owned small businesses. He assembled a coalition of Banking Partners to make loans to Minority Business located in underserved communities. While at Operation Hope he became a intermediary for the Small Business Administration Minority Pre-Qualification Loan Program and processed the first loan in that program in the country.
Mr. Lowe attended the University of Colorado at Boulder taking courses in business administration and engineering. Mr. Lowe is a member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the Urban Marketplace Committee.
